EcoSafe Technologies offers new floor solutions

EcoSafe Technologies is a veteran owned business that brings new technology-based floor safety services to commercial and residential customers.

"We specialize in OSHA compliance in floor safety for businesses and churches while also providing non-slip treatments for floors, tubs, showers, pool decks and more for homes," owner Paul Price said. 

According to Occupational Safety and Health Administration, injuries from slip and falls are the most common work-related injury, with more than 25,000 slip and fall injuries reported per day.

The average cost to settle a slip and fall accident is $50,000.

Small business owners may qualify for the ADA Tax Credit (up to $5,000) that will pay for the Nano-Grip floor treatment. The company will provide the IRS tax form as well as a 2-year warranty and safety certificate.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee in search of 75 mentors

Volunteers needed for high school students enrolled in Mentor 2.0 program
KNOXVILLE, Tenn.– Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee will launch the third class of its Mentor 2.0 program at South Doyle High School this fall. In order to match each student in need of a mentor, the agency is in search of 75 volunteers by August 1.

Mentor 2.0 is a technology-enriched, one-to-one youth mentoring program serving high school students in South Knoxville. The program focuses on college readiness and success for mentees, many of whom are first-generation college students.

Mentors and mentees meet in-person eight times per year at activities planned and led by BBBS-ETN staff. Mentors and mentees also communicate weekly through the iMentor app, discussing topics such as professionalism, perseverance, self-advocacy, college financial aid, and career choices.
