Celtic striker Jack Aitchison was at the double as Scotland U19s stretched ahead at the top of their European Championship qualifying group with a 5-0 win over San Marino.

Billy Stark's side made it two wins from two matches with a first half blitz in Rhyl.

Rangers youngster Dapo Mebude opened the scoring after 21 minutes and Aitchison netted his first just 60 seconds later as the Scots babes got off to a flier.

Billy Gilmour - who scored both goals in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Wales - made it 3-0 in the 35th minute and the game was all but over five minutes later when Aitchison notched his second.

San Marino refused the crumble after the break though and it took until added time for Stark's side to put the gloss on the scoreline with substitute Seb Ross of Aberdeen knocking home a fifth.

With Wales beating Sweden 2-1 in the other Group 4 match it leaves Scotland top with six points, three ahead of the Welsh and Sweden with San Marino looking for their first point at the bottom.

Next year's championships will be held in Armenia in July.
