The Niger State Police Command, on Thursday, said it had arrested two suspects for attempting to kidnap one Lawal Adamu of Kwakuti in the Paikoro Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects, Ishaku Lawal, 35, of Kwakuti area of Paikoro, and Abdullahi Dabo, 23, of Sabon Kaida village in the Gurara Local Government Area of the state, were said to have planned to abduct the victim on December 30, 2018, but were nabbed after Adamu reported the matter to the police.

Lawal told our correspondent that it was unemployment and frustration that made him join the gang of kidnappers.

He said, “I don’t have a job; the frustration is too much for me to bear.

“I regret my action; close associates may begin to distance themselves from me now.”

The Niger State police spokesman, Muhammad Abubakar, stated that the suspects were arrested following a tip-off, adding that they would be arraigned in court soon.
